Colleen Rothschild Quench & Shine Restorative Mask Reviews

colleen rothschild hair mask

— products in my regimen, and it’s significantly improved the tone and texture of my skin, reducing sporadic splotchiness and even clearing up small hormonal breakouts. All in all, I go to bed feeling like a dewy goddess and wake up looking — well, I’m sure I look as tired and crabby as usual, ha! — but my skin looks and feels refreshed, even despite everything 2020 has thrown at it.

Quench & Shine Restorative Mask

It’s mainly a solvent for ingredients that do not like to dissolve in oils but rather in water. Now, I also have to mention their Face Oil N°9, which is lush. I slather that stuff all over my face (or sorry, gently massage it into my skin) right before bed and it is perfection in a bottle. Having said all that, the shampoo is a different scent, slightly citrusy/floral, it’s very nice. If the rest of the line matched this, there would be no complaints.

Argan and Moringa Oils smooth unruly split-ends and deliver a healthy-looking shine. Improved hair elasticity and strength help reduce frizz and texture, resulting in supremely soft, irresistibly touchable hair. This mask can be used daily as a conditioner or as an intensive weekly treatment. As for skincare, it makes the skin silky smooth, creates a subtle gloss and forms a protective barrier (aka occlusive).

Super common little helper ingredient that helps products to remain nice and stable for a longer time. It does so by neutralizing the metal ions in the formula (that usually get into there from water) that would otherwise cause some not so nice changes. A modified dimethicone-type silicone molecule that also contains amino-groups. Having amino-groups means that Amodimethicone also has Nitrogen in its molecule that likes to have a positive charge. Positively charged (or quaternised) molecules are substantive to skin and hair as those are negatively charged surfaces and are excellent film formers. Amodiemthcone is no exception and it is especially recommended for hair-care products for its long-lasting hair conditioning benefits.

It’s kind of everywhere - both in plants and in cosmetic products. It’s part of 200 natural oils including lavender, ylang-ylang, bergamot, jasmine, geranium and it can be found in 90-95% of prestige perfumes on the market. You can usually find it right in the very first spot of the ingredient list, meaning it’s the biggest thing out of all the stuff that makes up the product. A lightweight, leave-in treatment, uses a blend of Shea and Cupuaçu Butter to help defend against heat and humidity, smoothing hair while maintaining body and movement.

QUENCH & SHINE RESTORATIVE SHAMPOO – 100 ml (3.3 fl oz)

So, over the past six weeks, I’ve been making my way through most of Colleen Rothschild’s best-sellers (see my full post here), and I’m smitten with just about all of them. Let’s talk about that Mandelic Acid Radiance Serum for a sec, though. Made with mandelic acid (a gentle alpha hydroxy acid), it’s probably one of the more — technical?

(If she ever comes out with a perfume I will be all in.) The body oil is incredibly moisturizing — it cleans without making your skin feel tight and dry, and the scrub helps to slough off dead skin cells. I’ve never used a body scrub that leaves my skin feeling so soft and smooth before. And the body butter is super-rich and hydrates all day with just a little bit of product.

Those must-have products are part of a nighttime regimen that I now look forward to instead of dread. I wash my face with the Radiant Cleansing Balm, apply the retinol serums (see above) and finish with the Extreme Recovery Cream (a highly moisturizing cream that’s perfect to use at night). I also love using the Clarifying Detox Mask about once a week to get a really deep clean without drying out my face. And when my skin is really dry (hello, winter!), I’ll use the Intense Hydrating Mask and just leave it on overnight for extra hydration. I’ll whittle it down to one of my favorites — the Sheer Renewal Cream.

After a shower, workout or dip in the pool, secure your damp hair into this oversized, super-absorbent scrunchie. Another great thing about panthenol is that it has anti-inflammatory and skin protecting abilities. A study shows that it can reduce the irritation caused by less-nice other ingredients (e.g. fragrance, preservatives or chemical sunscreens) in the product. An easy-to-formulate, commonly used, nice to have ingredient that’s also called pro-vitamin B5. As you might guess from the “pro” part, it’s a precursor to vitamin B5 (whose fancy name is pantothenic acid).

Argan and Moringa Oil help impart shine and tame flyaways without weighing hair down. An ultra-hydrating, colour-safe shampoo infused with Moringa Oil and Shea Butter to lock in moisture and add lustrous shine without weighing hair down. Biotin and Niacinamide deliver essential nourishment, leaving hair feeling restored, healthy and strong. Designed for everyday use and perfect for all hair types.

I was only ever interested in the mask but the rest of the products blew me away. Apply styling cream evenly to towel-dried hair from roots to ends. There was no import charge because the invoice amount declared the goods cost $30.00 which is exempt from taxes and below the declaration figure. I won’t lie, I was expecting a letter from USPS asking for money to release the products, but thankfully it never came. Other than having a good safety profile and being quite gentle to the skin it has some other advantages too. It can be used in many types of formulations as it has great thermal stability (can be heated up to 85°C) and works on a wide range of pH levels (ph 3-10).

It includes the Extreme Recovery Cream which is another fav of mine. Alrighty so back to the point of today’s post… Did you know that Colleen Rothschild recently launched a hair care line? When I received the Colleen Rothschild Hair Care Essentials Set in the mail it was as if they knew that my hair was in need of some TLC. I use Retinol Supreme Eye Serum and Retinol Supreme Night Oil every single night before bed.

Also, works well to fill in fine lines and wrinkles and give skin a plump look (of course that is only temporary, but still, it's nice). There are also scar treatment gels out there using dimethicone as their base ingredient. It helps to soften scars and increase their elasticity.

Colleen Rothschild Hydrating Hair Mask ingredients Explained

colleen rothschild hair mask

Was the line (which seems quite expensive) an add-on to the hair products or did it come first? The thing is, I get that reference because there’s a brand of fly/wasp repellent (called RAID I think in a blue can) that does share a couple of notes of the fragrance. It’s not as crazy as you think, because I remember using the spray in the summer and thinking that’s a nice scent for such an unpleasant product. I’m super sensitive to fragrance, but even I think it’s absolutely fine, but be warned it is strong.

My number struggle when post-showering is detangling my hair. Thanks to my extensions I have a lot of it and if I don’t do a good job conditioning it can very easily turn into a tangled lion’s mane. It’s not a good look and an absolute nightmare to comb out. Because I don’t wash my hair everyday I’m very selective about the products I use in the shower. Basically if I’m going to put a mask or serum on my hair when it’s damp it HAS to be good because it’s going to be in my hair at least 3-4 days. I mean, it’s hard to narrow down what I love from Colleen Rothschild because — let’s be honest — I’m not getting any younger over here.

SMOOTH & SHINE HAIR SERUM – 30 ml (1 fl oz)

If there’s one product I have to have at all times…it’s a really good facial cream. I have been using it for about two weeks now and I have to say, it is so lovely. It doesn’t feel oily (probably because it’s oil-free), manages to keep my skin feeling hydrated for the majority of the day (my dry-ish skin is usually ready for a second round of hydration by the afternoon). The other cool perk of this cream is that well, yes…it renews!

Colleen Rothschild Hair & Body

If you are looking for rich emollient benefits + more, shea is hard to beat. I had just had Greenlea, my first, and I was just so freaking tired — I didn’t want to go through a whole process, I just wanted to sleep. Also, if your skin is sensitive, fragrance is again not your best friend. It’s the number one cause of contact allergy to cosmetics. It’s definitely a smart thing to avoid with sensitive skin (and fragrance of any type - natural is just as allergic as synthetic, if not worse!).

Shana and some members of the team have been hooked on Colleen Rothschild Beauty for quite some time and now…they’ve got me hooked, too. It’s good guys (and I’ve tried a bunch of fancy skincare!!). If I had to choose a current fav though, I’d say it’s the Complete Eye Cream. After long days staring at my computer, I was starting to notice some serious bags & dark circles — after a few solid weeks of use, I see an improvement.

Key Ingredients

The oil coming from the seeds of the Moringa tree, a big white-flowered tree native to India. It's rich in nourishing and moisturizing fatty acid, oleic (75%) and also contains behenic acid (up to 8%) that makes moringa very stable and gives the oil a long shelf life. Thanks to all the above goodness in argan oil, it can greatly nourish and moisturize the skin and hair. It's also claimed to be able to neutralize collagen-damaging free radicals, help reduce scars, and revitalize and improve skin elasticity. You can even read that argan might help acne-prone skin, but being a high oleic oil, we would be careful with that. Unless you live under a rock you must have heard about shea butter.

My 2 Must-Have, Ant-Aging Skincare Products

As for the hair the hydration effect is also true there. Panthenol might make your hair softer, more elastic and helps to comb your hair more easily. It blends easily with essential oils and can also help to stabilize scents so it's a popular oil in the perfume industry. All in all, argan oil is a real goodie but we do not fully understand the special miracle status it enjoys.

My Morning Skincare Regimen

One of the products I rarely buy but absolutely need is eye serum. When I use it consistently, I absolutely see smoother skin around my eyes and I love that it’s thick enough it doesn’t slide around all over my face. In a normal year, I adore it for travel and just leave all the great items in my travel bag ready to go. Right now though, it’s perfect if you haven’t tried the products and want to sample a variety of them!

Colleen Rothschild Quench & Shine Restorative Mask Benefits:

So, argan oil comes from the kernel of the argan fruit that comes from the argan tree that grows only in Morocco. The tree is slow growing and getting the oil is a hard job. The traditional process is that the ripe argan fruits fall from the tree, then goats eat them up and poop out the seeds. The seeds are collected and smashed with a stone to get the kernels inside. This part is the hard one as the seeds have extremely hard shells.

There are some products that you just can’t live without–these are mine. Retinoids encourage cell turnover to increase collagen production — to actually decrease wrinkles, plump your skin and fade dark spots. The eye serum is crazy moisturizing and helps to counteract the look of wrinkled and stressed eyes brought upon by age and environmental factors — um, yes, please. The oil refines skin tone and texture, fights age spots, and improves dullness. I am on my umpteenth bottle of both, and if I had to choose just two products to start with, these would be them. I know EVERYONE at TME has already been raving about the Radiant Cleansing Balm for years now, but I finally tried it and now completely understand the hype.

It promotes new cell turnover to help minimize those annoying little lines and wrinkles. As for me, I have rosacea — cleansing my face is very important but I have to be very gentle. I LOVE smearing the cleansing balm on my face and letting it do its job, then gently wiping it; it always leaves my skin smooth and clean. Hair-wise, I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but my hair is in the borderline of wavy and curly, and keeping it hydrated and restored from the heat styling is a must. I started using the Colleen Rothschild restorative mask recently and love it so far.

It's probably the most hyped up natural butter in skincare today. It comes from the seeds of African Shea or Karite Trees and used as a magic moisturizer and emollient. As for hair care, it is a non-volatile silicone meaning that it stays on the hair rather than evaporates from it and smoothes the hair like no other thing. Depending on your hair type, it can be a bit difficult to wash out and might cause some build-up (btw, this is not true to all silicones, only the non-volatile types).

I might have to give up and completely switch over to all her products sooner rather than later. The mask itself is creamy coloured and very rich and thick. It has a sheen on it and looks like it could be too oily for your hair, it contains a blend of Shea, and Bacuri butters and Argan and Moringa oils. But there’s no greasy residue, it rinses out easily and you think perhaps it’s not doing much until you dry your hair which then looks and feels like a shiny salon blow-dry.

Colleen Rothschild also created a body care line that consists of a creamy oil body wash, body scrub, and body butter. And, you guys, I can’t explain how good these products are. The Tahitian Monoi scent smells like a tropical vacation, and I just recently got to try the Honey Vanilla that smells amazing too — like warm vanilla and sandalwood.

Inside the Ishbia Familys Dream Home in Bloomfield Design + Decor

mat ishbia house

The light fixtures in the home provide an illuminating and elevated architectural style. The oversized orb in the living room and vintage wrought iron chandelier in the sunroom are examples of beautiful form meeting function. One of the most striking features of the home’s design is the use of windows to create illuminating natural light. The foyer with a two-story sweeping curved staircase, dining room, kitchen, sunroom and children’s playroom are all encased in light, due to the nearly floor-to-ceiling custom windows. For their 21st-century modern home in Bloomfield Township, the Ishbias collaborated with builder Joel Lerman, owner of Lerman Corporation custom homes, which won the Best of Houzz Design Award three consecutive years.

One quipped, “This should be a stop for the passenger trains running from Pontiac.” Indeed, Amtrak’s passengers will roll past the property from a tall embankment, close enough to spy, except that Ishbia’s plans include massive plantings of evergreens around his property, shielding all that goes on from public view. At a meeting 18 months ago, the board approved an even longer list of outdoor features and accessory buildings. A separate, secluded driveway will give family members access to their six-car garage. The updated roster of backyard amenities had a magic number — 14.

Power couple Mat and Emily Ishbia are dedicated to living life to the fullest, but their aspiration is to do it with all their priorities in place. With three children under age 7 and a lifestyle that’s in perpetual motion, their goal was to create a home that’s a fusion of detailed sophistication and casual living fit for the whole family. It's only eight years old, has won design awards and starred in glossy design magazines. But a lot can happen in eight years to someone viewed by Forbes magazine as Michigan's fourth-wealthiest individual, with $4.5 billion in assets as of 2022.

Billionaire Mat Ishbia razing 5 Bloomfield Twp. homes to build mansion, 'amusement park'

Before the recent one, they'd pleased the zoning board by dropping plans for a go-kart track, go-kart garage and lighted observation platform. Although the karts were to be electric, township officials and neighbors worried that they'd hear squealing tires and see the upscale bleachers. “The late Dan Clancy, interior designer at Franklin-based Perlmutter-Freiwald, brought specific inspirations to life throughout the home,” Emily says. Soon, in Bloomfield Township, Ishbia will own Michigan’s largest occupied house, estimated to be at least 60,000 square feet when it’s complete, says the township assessor’s office. It's the 85,000-square-foot Meadow Brook Hall, built in the 1920s by Dodge auto heiress Matilda Wilson, who gave it to Oakland University as a conference center. But Ishbia will occupy his new house, to sit on about 14 acres that he'll assemble by tearing down five houses.

Attorney Trey Brice told board members that almost none of the backyard features would exceed that height, and many had been dropped to 10 feet to please the zoning honchos. It's a 22,000-square-foot house that Ishbia built after demolishing two other houses, both of them 1950s ranch houses — the style that was hot in the nation's housing boom after World War II. Aging ranch houses sometimes gain additions, growing up with second stories, or out with new kitchens and family rooms. In affluent areas, they've been leveled for the last two decades, making way for new, more fashionable and much larger houses. Nowhere in Michigan, however, have ranch houses made way for anything this big.

"We added more landscaping, more screening. The neighbors are very happy about it," said Brice, Ishbia's lawyer. Nudged by the chair Brian Henry to make a motion, board member Jocelyn Giangrande quipped, "Do I get a season pass?" Giangrande then moved that the requests be granted because "it is a very expensive property." She quickly corrected her slip to "expansive property." Ishbia's plans also met resistance from the subdivision's homeowners association.

“I took over one of Mat’s hobby rooms and made it my own studio and dark room.” She is also an author — of “Overcoming Obstacles,” a self-published book on how to overcome loss and health issues — a blogger, fashion stylist and model. “I style and direct the photography in my own fashion shoots,” Emily says. Husband Mat, 37, is president and CEO of United Wholesale Mortgage, a division of United Shore Financial Services, founded by his father Jeff Ishbia. “My husband works harder than anyone I know, but he plays harder than anyone, too. When he’s home with our family, he gives 100 percent,” says Emily, 37. The house is filled with basketballs, hockey sticks, newly created arts and crafts, musical instruments and more, and both parents join in regularly to play.

“We sculpted a child-friendly vinyl wood floor at the crafts and have ample cabinetry with a sink to keep the room organized and clean,” Lerman says. "Our attorney sent him a very good letter explaining the continuing issues he could have," after which Ishbia agreed to move the house, Sorensen said. At last week's township meeting, Sorensen said he no longer had major objections to Ishbia's overall project. Other neighbors had sent letters of support to the zoning board, following changes to the original designs, including pro hockey player Jeff Petry, son of former Detroit Tigers pitcher Dan Petry.

Big Designs for a Big Life

Details came on July 11 at a township meeting of the zoning board of appeals. At such meetings, most petitioners approach with just one or two requests, such as, “May I build a bigger garage and a taller fence than usual? ” Ishbia approached — actually, his team of architects and lawyers approached — with 13 requests. They'd appeared at a previous meeting with even more requests.

The home’s expansive floor plan involved a teardown of two houses on the original property and was finished in 2015. “Emily had definite ideas with the architectural elements like the custom-crafted fireplace with Indiana limestone, and I couldn’t have completed the construction in the timeframe we did without her input,” Lerman says. “Originally a screened porch, Emily made changes to make it an all-year-around sunroom, and the vision was completed with the interior design work of Sherry Bulinda at Perlmutter-Freiwald,” Lerman says. Emily is a full-time mother and passionate photographer, and her larger-than-life family photos accenting the walls and halls add to the intimacy of their home. “Some of my favorites are the photos I’ve taken of the kids from our vacations,” Emily says.

In Phoenix, he's majority owner of two pro basketball teams, the men’s Suns and women’s Mercury. But Ishbia's plans for his big new house, and especially his big new yard, have become the talk of the neighborhood.

Every fabric in the home, from floor coverings to luxury leather seating, is kid-friendly. “Because we often have a house full of young kids doing everything from painting to disco dancing, my main request was that we use materials that can be wiped down and cleaned regularly but still convey beautiful style,” Emily says. Lerman’s team created a space where kids can do anything from arts and crafts to entertain on the stage.

Plastic bags are less of a shell, but they provide a structure to hold padding material around the egg. Add padding such as foam, bubble wrap or packing peanuts between the egg and the side of a small plastic bag. Place the small bag into a medium-sized bag and add more padding around the small bag.

The Fun of Egg Drop Experiments

More advanced software—often those that do 3D modeling—will likely have greater system requirements than programs geared to 2D renderings. Consider the complexity of the projects and the cloud-storage services the programs offer, which could help limit needed space on your hard drive. Designers may find there’s a learning curve when using certain sketch or design programs. Many design software options provide access to training guides to aid in learning these programs and obtaining all their benefits. Tutorials, training guides, webinars, and live instruction can help make learning these programs easier. Live instruction specifically allows for troubleshooting any problems as they arise while using the programs.

Pen and paper sketches don’t really cut it anymore, but realistic 2D or 3D visualizations can virtually show the possibilities. Home remodeling software or studio design software allows designers to experiment and view how these changes will look before any work starts. This can help avoid unexpected or costly surprises and ensure more satisfactory results in the final reveals of newly designed spaces or remodels.

Based on the learning from the first failed experiment, we did a 2nd design to make sure all extension straws sticking out of the pyramid vertexes with a different length. One thing we noticed was when the egg dropped to the ground, the side that landed on the ground was on 3 straws with the same length sticking out the 3 vertexes. This makes the connecting straws parallel to the ground. These parallel straws must have hit the egg hard. With this realization, we started the next design.

Mary-Kate filed for divorce from her husband in 2020, and has since focused on her equestrian work. She hit the ballroom on season 22 of Dancing with the Stars, and in January 2016, the mother of two girls got engaged to boyfriend Justin Hodak, though they split in March 2017.

The Unauthorized Full House Story

The show featured the Tanner family, who lived in a three-story house in San Fransico. After the death of his wife Pam, Danny Tanner (played by Bob Sagat) recruits his brother-in-law Jesse, and best friend Joey, to help raise his three daughters. Despite the shifting sands of the entertainment world, the Full House House has managed to retain its appeal. Iconic and immovable, it symbolizes a golden era of sitcoms that enthralled hearts globally.

Hello Giggles theorizes that people feel so connected to and nostalgic about "Full House" because it was such a groundbreaking show at the time. Peppered into all the cheesy catchphrases and wholesome family moments was the tough subject matter and family dynamics more complex than had been previously represented in sitcoms. Although the series was set in San Francisco, the sitcom itself was taped at the Warner Bros. Outside of certain excerpts in the opening title sequences, including Alamo Square Park's Painted Ladies, the only episode to have actually been taped in San Francisco was the first episode of season eight, "Comet's Excellent Adventure".

The home we all gush over in SanFran is actually not where it was filmed – that was just the exterior shot. Most of the filming actually took place in Los Angeles on the Warner Bros. lot. My Full House fanatics will all know it’s pretty safe to say the show was set in San Francisco, just based on nothing more than the opening credits. The family room is now at the back of the house, where the old kitchen once stood. The brand new kitchen now stands where the family room once stood in the middle of the house.

Franklin's building permits got pulled by the city, and he ultimately sold the house to that $5 million buyer. "Full House" creator and former executive producer Jeff Franklin bought the home in 2016 for $4 million with the intention of turning it into a replica of the set used on the sitcom, per Insider. Franklin wanted to allow fans and tourists to walk through the home, but after facing backlash from neighbors and members of the community due to traffic concerns, decided to renovate the home instead. While most of the show took place inside the titular house which was built in a studio, the distinctly San Franciscan home that was used in the opening credits still sits on a quiet residential street.

Fuller House went on to have a five-season run, with its final episode premiering in December of 2020. With 1709 Broderick Street no longer an option for the Netflix sequel, Franklin pivoted to plan B and recreated the original set with the help of production designer Jerry Dunn. What was supposed to be an easy project turned into quite the process when the team realized the original set drawings had been lost. According to Entertainment Weekly, recreating the set meant going frame by frame for over 100 hours of Full House.

The color of the door has also changed, but anyone on a sitcom pilgrimage can still be transported back to a time when “Everywhere You Look” was the catchiest song on the tube. The home is still a private residence so respect to the current owners is appreciated. In season two, Danny is reassigned from his duties as a sports anchor by his television station to become co-host of the morning show, Wake Up, San Francisco, and is teamed up with Nebraska native Rebecca Donaldson. Jesse and Rebecca ("Becky") eventually fall in love and get married in season four. In season five, Becky gives birth to twin sons, Nicholas ("Nicky") and Alexander ("Alex"). But the neighbors weren't too fond of that idea, and so Franklin instead renovated the home into a modern masterpiece that homebuyers would find appealing.

He also intended to give the interiors a “Full House” makeover so they’d resemble the sitcom sets for fans to tour, but the neighbors protested. Who among us hasn’t chuckled at Uncle Jesse’s antics or rolled our eyes at the tormentingly spotless existence of Danny Tanner? The San Francisco home, seemingly nestled among the iconic Painted Ladies, was ever at the heart of the popular sitcom. Unbeknownst to most, it’s actually located at 1709 Broadrick Street, proving that reality can, indeed, be stranger than fiction. The house that was their home wasn’t just a filming location but a beam of California sunshine that gave charm to the TV series.

Bad Logos: 18 Big Brands with the Worst Logos

bad logo design

It needs to set your brand apart from rivals and leave a deep impression on the audience. I agree that pretty much all the originals were terrible, but some of the redesigns are pretty flat too. Top 10 Bad Logos: Avoid These Logo Design Mistakes

They can help us grow and become better designers—but only when we’re willing to swim against the frenzied currents of mock indignation and groupthink. That said, paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for a logo will never make sense to a vast majority of the population. No amount of editorializing the intricacies of the design process will help because the public’s perception of value isn’t business-centric. The font choice is also a bit outdated, stuck in the late 80’s and 90’s. This terrible logo could benefit from a shake down and redesign.

– Gap

These are the people that carry a brand through thick and thin. Beware of straining their loyalty, specifically when the goal of a redesign is little more than a ratings boost from a wider audience only interested in the sugar-rush of controversy. No they did not change their business when they came up with this logo.

Alignment issues are one thing, but this level of bevel in a logo design is never acceptable. Wow, the wonders of all the imagination that can go into the letter A’s letter form. Remember back in 2009 when almost every typography lover ripped this logo to shreds? Sometimes one has to wonder if Microsoft is just doing this on purpose. A simple logo, on the other hand, can be easily recognized and reproduced across various mediums.

Now, if you separate the brand name from the logo (as I did), no one would be able to guess what it is except it’s either a man placing his hands on head or an eye trying to hide behind a bar. All examples in this post are genuinely good enough to be used as real logos. My goal with this post is to outline very specific details to show how minor changes can greatly impact how an identity & branding design can appear to viewers. Bad logo design can have catastrophic consequences for both client and designer.

In 2016, Uber redesigned its logo design to make it more modern and inclusive, departing from its traditional ‘U’ symbol. It embraced a geometric, symbol-less design, featuring a futuristic display of atomized bits symbolizing diversity and dynamism. The rebrand aimed to convey innovation and connectivity but faced criticism for its abstract nature, causing confusion among users. Poor color selections or clashing color combinations within a logo can create a jarring visual impact. Inappropriate color choices may distract from the intended message or fail to evoke the desired emotional response, weakening the logo’s overall appeal and memorability. A more strategic approach to colour selection and design composition is required to address these issues and enhance the Kraft Foods logo.

Luckily, this comprehensive guide to bad logo design gives you a myriad of terrible logo examples, along with expert advice on how to design a future-proof logo for 2020. This comprehensive guide to bad logo design gives you a myriad of terrible logo examples, along with expert advice on how to design a future-proof logo for 2020. The target audience of a business supplying VoIP call center software is unlikely to resonate with vibrant colors or in-your-face graphics, preferring modern, sleek, or minimal designs.

It was labeled as the best font created in the 20th century, and has received much admiration and praise in the design industry. But over the years I have grown to dislike the font, just as I have an aversion to Comic Sans. While I appreciate the genius behind the typeface design, it’s always in danger of looking tacky and ineffective–because it’s so overused. Their use of Helvetica is a sign of poor creativity and research. This is a good example of when redesigning a logo, taking things away can and will lead to bad results if done inappropriately.

So, when choosing a symbol for your brand, make sure it’s composed of both an icon and your company’s name. Research from 2017 shows that logos composed of a visual and brand name are perceived as more attractive than those which only feature one of these elements. The Sherwin-Williams logo has long symbolised the company's commitment to providing high-quality paints and coatings. However, in recent years, this iconic emblem has come under intense scrutiny due to its perceived insensitivity in the face of pressing global issues, particularly climate change.

The new design retained the essence of the familiar Pepsi globe, with only slight modifications to the shape and orientation of the world and the typography used for the brand name. While undoubtedly refined, these alterations did not represent a revolutionary brand identity shift. It is no surprise that Microsoft Bing was given the honor of creating the “worst-designed logo of 2009”. The problem was that the peculiar shapes resulting from the arduous horizontal scaling were too unattractive and unflattering.

Sure, considering all the ins and outs of your favorite design does mean that you won’t get a final solution in a matter of days or weeks. But if you think about the long run, it’s absolutely worth taking your time. A great example comes from Orizaba Original, an eCommerce store that sells authentic Mexican textile products. The brand’s product range consists mainly of Baja hoodies and Mexican blankets. So, the design team decided to create a logo that reflects this aesthetic and is as colorful and unique as the clothes Orizaba Original sells. Decades of marketing research have shown that a logo plays a critical role in enhancing a brand’s image.

While retro concepts and vintage design certainly work their way through logo trend cycles, it’s important to acknowledge when your existing logo needs an update. Pressure to match up to slick tech firms and fresh, young start-ups has sent some legacy brands racing to update stuffy typography and simplify complex emblems. 🔥 Before you leave, learn how to design in the best way by following the 12 graphic design principles. Not only that, but your logo will do a much better job of attracting customers and staying memorable. So, if you’re struggling to create unity, injecting symmetry and balance into your design might just help. Take the tree figure, for example, which has become somewhat of a template for health-based logos.
